Smith Lake Boat Rental

Before renting one of our boats and/or equipment, please review our Terms and Conditions.  By booking with FRIENDS Boat Rentals, you agree to abide by these terms to ensure a safe and fun experience.

• Rental Times - Start 10:00am CST / End 6:00pm CST
• Reservation Deposit - 50% of the rental fee is required at the time of booking.
• Reservation Confirmation - Reservations will not be confirmed until payment has been successfully received and processed.
• Fuel - A full tank of fuel is included at the start of your rental.  Boats must be returned with a full tank of fuel.  A fee of $10 per gallon will be charged for any refueling required.

• 14 + Days Prior to Rental Date - A full refund will be given.
• Within 14 Days of Rental Date - Forfeit 50% of rental fee.
• Within 24 Hours or No Shows - Forfeit 100% of rental fee.

*All cancellations must be submitted in writing to friendsboatrentals@gmail.com.  Time/date stamp of email will determine the cancellation timing.

• At the end of the designated rental time, the boat must be returned cleaned.  A late fee of $100 per half hour will be charge if the boat is not returned by 6:00pm CST / the end of your rental period.

• Excessive dirt or trash on the boat at the end of the rental period will result in a minimum cleaning fee of $150.

• Renters are financially responsible for all damages occurring during their rental period.
• If damages occur during the rental period.  A professional assessment of the damages will be made to determine repair / replacement cost and the renter will be notified within 7 business days.
• If the damage occurred during the rental period results in the boat being taken out of rental availability, renter will be held responsible for both damages and revenue lost while the boat is being repaired. 

• The boat must be operated in accordance with Federal, State, and local laws, rules, and regulations including, but not limited to all laws regarding the use of alcohol and drugs.  DUI laws apply and are enforced by the ALEA Marine Patrol, as well as other State, County and local law enforcement agencies.  A copy of the Rental Agreement must be kept on the boat during the rental period.
• The renter must be at least 21 years of age and have a valid driver's license.  Prior boating experience is recommended.  If the renter does not have a Vessel endorsement on their driver's license, he/she will be required to attend a short safety briefing and must sign an additional document indicating they have been instructed in the rules regarding the proper and safe operation of the boat.  The renter must comply with these rules for the event of the rental period.  Additional information may be viewed at www.ALEA.gov.
• Grilling is prohibited onboard.
• Pets are prohibited onboard (possible consideration may be given).
• Towing or pulling anything other than skiers, tubes or floats is prohibited.
• Fireworks are prohibited onboard.
• Fishing and fishing equipment is prohibited onboard.
• All "no wake" zones must be honored.
• Children under the age of 8 are required by law to wear a life jacket at all times.  

• Renters acknowledge the inherent risks of using towables (tubes, skis, boards, etc) and voluntarily assume responsibility for their use.  Renters must follow all safety instructions and are responsible for any damage to the equipment, as well as damage to other parties and/or property.

• These Terms and Conditions are governed by the laws of the State of Alabama.  Any disputes shall adhere to these governing laws.

• By renting with FRIENDS Boat Rentals, renters release and waive all liability for any injuries, damages, or losses incurred while using our boats or equipment. Renters agree to indemnify and hold harmless FRIENDS Boat Rentals from any claims resulting from their activities.

• It is the renter's responsibility to keep in continued communication with FRIENDS Boat Rentals and ensure they understand all operational features of the boat.  If requested, a staff member will provide instructions before departure to ensure compliance and safety.
• By renting from FRIENDS Boat Rentals, renter agrees to these Terms and Conditions.
